The Best Photography Festivals

The Best Photography Festivals

So the summer is in full swing and the festival season is upon us (and we’re not just talking about the music festivals!). We have put a list together of the BEST photography festivals around this summer!

Location: Dublin

Occurrence: Annual

2015 festival: July 1 – 31

What to expect? Exhibitions from Christiane Peschek, Dominic Hawgood and also a collective mix of contemporary Korean photography (which certainly intrigues us).

Check out the site itself to find more information and get a sneak peak of what to expect!

Les Rencontres d’Arles

Location: Arles (France)

Occurrence: Annual

2015 festival: 6 July – 20 September

What to expect? The exhibition itself is spread out amongst different venues in Arles, which gives the festival a really nice feel of exploration whilst you ponder the works of new photographers and artists.

Cortona on The Move

Location: Cortona (Italy)

Occurance: Annual

2015 festival: July 16 – September 27

What to expect? This young festival every year ambitiously aims to focus on a journey…what do we mean? Why not take a peak on their site itself.

Unseen Photo Fair

Location: Amsterdam

Occurance: Annual

2015 festival: September 18 – 20

What to expect? The clue is in the name…this festival focuses on undiscovered, unknown and unseen work. The event takes place in Amsterdam’s huge Westergasfabriek, which is located in the Amsterdam’s Westerpark (West Park). In the westergasfabriek and park area you will find some great bars. One of our favourites is Pacific Parc, which has some great music nights, their most popular is the Rock and Roll night, where you can boogie the night away. While you are in the area there are some good choices for dinner as well, such as Gin en Mossel. There you can enjoy a GnT (or several) and discuss the festival itself.
